My Favorite Newborn Photography Props

Wraps
The best of the best when it comes to newborn photography are the wraps. They soothe the newborn since most babies love tight swaddling. I use the softest wraps provided by a small business owner from British Columbia, Canada. I use different swaddling techniques and often the baby falls asleep as soon as they feel the comfort and warmth of the wrap. All wraps are disinfected after each session to keep the germs away.

Posing pillows and Bean Bag
Both help create the perfect surface for layering and posing the baby. Especially, the older babies love to stretch and kick in the air as they lay down onto the bean bag, and smile at me as I take their precious photos.

Rugs
I like using rugs to create that dreamy wonderland around the sleepy baby.

Blankets
Crocheted or knitted blankets look amazing in photos and offer texture and patterns.

Hats, Bonnets and Headbands
I have a collection of bows, headbands, sleep caps, bonnets, that can help create the feeling of certain season.

Sleepers
Baby’s pyjamas in the softest material fit up to 3 months old.

Basket
Versatile and comfortable for the newborns or older babies.

Other Props
Often, the best newborn photography props are the ones supplied by the parens. An heirloom onesie, a favorite stuffed animal or other items.
